On the Edge Exhibition

The latest exhibition at the North Coast Visitor Centre is called 'On the Edge'.

These are the paintings that I'm showing.

Seascape with cliffs and sea stacks

Breaking away, Duncansby Stacks

Watercolour, 26 cm x 36 cm

The sea stacks at Duncansby show how the coastline is constantly changing. They were carved out of the cliffs by the sea, and others will be formed in the same way. Maybe there will be a series of stacks one day, if the originals haven’t crumbled away by then!

Seascape with rough sea and a clifftop castle.

Beside the Turbulent Sea, Dunbeath Castle

Watercolour, 26 cm x 36 cm

There is no doubt that Dunbeath Castle is ‘On the Edge’! Built in a virtually impregnable position on top of the cliffs, perhaps it will only be defeated by the sea itself.
