Mission-house at Dirlot

This is the old Presbyterian chapel and mission-house at Dirlot. There seems to have been a minister here from the late 18th Century. He was known as a Missionary and his house was the Mission-house. His Mission covered a very large area of boggy moorland and he would have covered most of it on foot. They took their religion very seriously in those days!
With your wonderful images and interesting comments, Keith, I feel as though I am on a constant tour of the area. You do such beautiful work - have you ever considered putting your paintings (plus comments!) into book form?

That's a very good idea Diane. As you say, the paintings with the stories could make a nice book about the area. I'll definitely have to think about that. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteAn interesting group of buildings, and on my ever growing list of locations to re-visit, I am looking forward to the autumn and some nice low directional light to make the most of this location.
