St Mary's Chapel
St Mary's Chapel, Crosskirk
Watercolour, 13 x 18 cm
This little chapel was built in the 12th Century, and is one of the oldest in the area. It seems a bit isolated now and I don't know why it was built here. Previous burial mounds have been found, as well as a Pictish symbol stone, so maybe the site had some special significance.
